Old Beijing Hutong
The word'Hutong',which is what the small back streets or narrow lanes of Beijing are called.It is an unusual term used only in Beijing and a few northern cities in China.In fact,it came from Mongolian roots.Be used all over around Beijing.But lots of them are disappeared today.Only certain area preserved by local government.Take a pedicab or ride bicycle through the Hutongs is a great experience to enjoy the Chinese history.
